1862; he was 34.
Appears on page 146, Franklin County Census of 1850,
age 22, in the household with his parents..

Pension Application dated Aug 26, 1902; physician Dr. Dillard. Enlisted Aug
28, 1863, in Co. B, 57th VA Regiment. Source: Pension Application of Soldier,
Library of VA Ed was the son of John Wren Philpott (his mother was a Dillon) and
could "play the fiddle mighty well" according to Vida (Hurt) King. She
particularly remembered his rendition of Boneparte's Retreat. Her son Harry Lee
King has the bow to Mr. Philpott's fiddle. Ed Philpott married Bett Turner, daughter
of Stephen and Ruth (Prillaman) Turner. Another Edward Philpott Jr shows up on
the roster of the 24th VA Infantry Regiment. (Notes of Rebecca Dyer)

on 24 Apr 1841 in Henry Co. VA. Samuel P. died in Henry Co. VA on 2 Sep 1913;
he was 72. . .

25, he married Martha J. PHILPOTT, daughter of John PHILPOTT, in Henry County,
Virginia.14 Born abt

TURNER. Born on 9 Jul 1852. Martha Jane died on 20 Oct 1935; she
was 83. Resided in Log House now owned by Dr. Harry Lee King, Jr.
In 1880 when Martha Jane was 27, she married James Alexander TURNER, son of James
Overton TURNER (1 May 1816-13 Dec 1864) & Sarah "Sallie" CAHILL
(14 Mar 1818-1888). Born on 9 Jan 1850. James Alexander died on 26 Aug
1916; he was 66.
